LAND ART
Land art is an art form in which the landscape itself becomes part of the artwork. Together, we will create a piece of art using natural materials we find around us, such as stones, wood, branches, leaves, sand, and flowers. We will do this in a gentle and respectful way, making sure we do not take too much from the place and that our creation fits the landscape around us.
As the academic year comes to an end, this event is also a moment to say thank you for Wageningen and the neighborhood for having hosted and inspired us, and hopefully offered us beauty, rest, and connection throughout the year.
What will we do?
We will begin with a silent walk, taking time to notice the surroundings and gather natural materials carefully. Along the way, we will connect with the place, observe its characteristics, and reflect on the beauty that is already present.
We will end next to the Rhine, where we will create a collaborative piece of land art in conversation with nature. Through this process, we will explore how humans can be part of the ecosystem, not only by observing or taking from nature, but also by responding to it with care and contributing to its beauty.
Nóri and Sanne will guide some gentle exercises to help you connect with yourself, the place, and the group. There will also be time for reflection.

YOUNG MINDS SEMINAR (IN JULY!)
Zen River, a zen monastery in the North of the Netherlands organizes a seminar for young people (18-30 yr) interested in Buddhism to meet, meditate and have a monastic experience for a week.
A special training week for students interested in Buddhism and meditation will be organized in July 2026. The program will include training in zazen (zen meditation), Buddhist ritual, scriptural study, and several group activities. With previous Young Minds activities we had also a painting and/or singing workshop. You can also learn from the ‘Tenzo’ (head cook of the monastery) by preparing the meals with her, or work in our large garden in the Dutch countryside, close to the Wadden-Sea coast.
Contribution
The strongly reduced contribution for the Young Mind weekend, including accommodation, food and training is
€140 (normally €205). Both Zen River and Spectrum sponsor this event to make the reduced price possible. We will organize a group train ticket to keep the costs low. If the costs are still an obstacle for you, please email us.
